The question above is a quite current issue, I must say. Although I do not have to pay for my studies myself, I know quite a lot of people who have to. I study Psychology, and as in most departments there are two courses daily (free) and evening one. The latter is not only not free, but quite expensive it costs about four times more than the average national income, for each semester. That is why I am concerned. This financial barrier restrains many talented, gifted and intelligent people from continuing their education. Some might say that everyone can pass the exam, choose the daily studies. This is true, but this opinion ignores the fact, that children from small towns, villages or from families without tradition of education have much smaller chances to be at the same level as students from Warsaw, for instance, and this does not depend on their talents or intelligence, but merely on their personal background. The truth is, that majority of the students come from large cities.
this state of things causes a large discrepancy between the levels of education of people depending on their place of birth, kind of family they come from and just wealth . Although it is easy to ignore and forget about it, the chances, availability of education ought to be equal . This should be a principal rule, since education, especially university education determines life, mainly professional career, the most.
